Cromer Colts - 2009 Match Reports

Cromer U15s vs. Ashmanaugh U15s

Cromer under 15's visited a strong Ashmanaugh side who proved to be a little too good for them.  Cromer fielded first and took some quick wickets with Ben Hardy bowling well.  This was followed by some good spin bowling from Tom Dory who had three more batsman caught out .  However the later batsmen for Ashmanaugh hit out and finished with a total 113 for 8.

In reply the Cromer batsmen found the Ashmanaugh attack fiery and in the gathering gloom were unable to get the ball away and finished on 54 for 7; top scorer being Jack Van Gruening with 8.

Bradfield U13s vs. Cromer U13s

Bradfield U13  306; Cromer U13 187 - Bradfield  won by 119 runs

Despite the score, this was a good performance by the young Cromer boys, well captained by the aptly named Chris Skipper, against a very experienced Bradfield team contining three Norfolk age group players. Alfie Woodrow, just 10, had an impressive debut with bat and ball, while young Joe Winterford batted valiently against the much older county level bowlers. Timmy Bending knocked over the stumps and Ollie Cockaday took a good catch in the gully. Everybody did their very best and the team can be proud of the way they played.
