A welcome return to winning ways for Cromer ‘A’ at Norton Warnes on Saturday.
If last week was doom and gloom following defet to Old Catton, then this week Cromer roared back into life, defeating last season's Division 2 side Cringleford Lodge.
A steady start with the bat, after winning the toss, and Cromer put on 52 for the 1st wicket. Although Sunday hero Barrett was reduced to a duck following last week's ton, Lithins and Regis took the score from 53 for 2 to 149 for 3 with 15 overs still to go.
Alan Lithins’ big hitting 76 was the highlight and Regis with an equally hard hit 39 ensured that Cromer were well set to put the game beyond reach.
Cringleford must have been worried at this point until their bowlers got to grips with the middle and late order, and, despite some lusty hitting, Cromer's remaining batsmen were restricted to just 59 runs off the last 15 overs, with honours going to Price and his 4 for 45.
This season Cromer's bowling has been on song from first ball to the last, and this week was no exception. Battrick and Regis again responded to the call, reducing the opposition to 48 for 3, before handing over to Craske and Taylor.
Craske has been a revelation so far this season, and on Saturday produced a spell of pace way beyond his years.
Star of the day, however, was Nathan Taylor with five for 16. Superb figures - helped in no small way by the work of Craske from the other end.
If Cromer can put last weeks loss behind them, then on this form they will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with this season.
